Foundation

A strong foundation is the key to a well built home. Castlestone Homes builds a continuous 8” thick concrete block foundation on crawlspaces for superior strength.

Radiant Barriers

Reduce the amount of heat entering the home by reflecting the sun’s energy away from the interior of the home. Castlestone Homes installs radiant barriers in the roof system and on exterior walls.

Air Sealing

Prevents unfiltered air from infiltrating the home, reducing the amount of dust, pollen, and allergens from the home. All cracks, joints, and penetrations are air sealed by foam, caulk, and/or glue in order to increase energy efficiency. Castlestone Homes believes the rewards of clean air to breathe and lower energy costs are worth it.

High Efficiency Heating and Cooling Systems

Additional energy savings is obtained by using properly sized equipment; 90% efficient gas hot air furnaces and 14 SEER air conditioning units. Castlestone Homes also uses programmable thermostats in all homes to conserve additional energy. Clean, filtered air is brought into the system and this reduces dust and allergens from entering the home. Duct work is designed and tested for efficiency.

Low E Windows

Upgraded windows that reduce the transfer of heat and harmful rays from the sun into the home. These windows are also part of Castlestone Homes’ energy efficiency package.

Stick Built Construction

Similar to Castlestone Homes’ foundation, stick built construction provides a sturdier home than other methods.
